Description

Year Up is a non-profit 501c3 workforce program that is committed to ensuring equitable access to economic opportunity, education, and justice for all young adults—no matter their background, income, or zip code. Employers face a growing need for talent while millions are left disconnected from the economic mainstream. These inequities only further perpetuate the Opportunity Divide that exists in our country—a divide that Year Up is determined and positioned to close.

Micro

The MSW Intern field placement will provide enriching learning and skill building opportunities to develop and/or further enhance the intern’s foundational Social Work skills (engagement, group facilitation, interviewing and supportive case management and referral services).

The MSW intern will be supervised by the Director of Student Services. The intern will support the program team who are responsible for monitoring, supporting and enhancing students’ success in the program through assessing external risk factors and intervening as needed to support student program completion. This includes direct support of students by providing access to external resources for delivering counseling and related social services. The MSW Intern will also interact with students as a coach, group facilitator, and advocate, participating in building a positive educational environment.
