Description

East Hill is a title 1 elementary school in the Kent School District. Our population includes a high number of multi-lingual students, refugee families, students experiencing homelessness, trauma-impacted families, and chronic absenteeism.

Micro

Intern will have a caseload of 10-15 individual students, working to build SEL (social-emotional learning) skills around emotional regulation, feelings recognition and coping skills. Intern will also assist with low level crisis intervention (things like students having a bad mental health day).

Mezzo

Intern will lead or co-lead 1-2 SEL groups.

Macro

Macro project is flexible and can be tailored to intern's interests. Some areas that could benefit East Hill would be building community relationships, social media management, and event planning.
