Description
West Seattle High School is a comprehensive high school that is part of Seattle Public Schools and is located in West Seattle. WSHS has approximately 1,500 students and a mission to ensure each and every student has the opportunity and the access to a high-quality education that prepares them to thrive in their post-secondary pursuits.
Micro
Individual support of students to promote social/emotional wellbeing through brief mental health counseling, crisis intervention, safety planning, resources connection. Individual support can be through one-on-one or small group intervention. Support students and families to meet basic/physical needs through weekend food bags/boxes, minor financial support and connection to community resources.
Mezzo
Support students within systems including family, peer relationships/groups, school, etc. This can include family meetings, conflict resolution, and supporting self-advocacy in education. Coordinator of the Care Center a resource hub for students, groups and CBOs.
Macro
Participation in MTSS (Multi-tiered Systems of Support), RET (Racial Equity Team), and other building wide systems to promote student/family voice.
Required Experience
Prefered experience with adolescents and/or school settings. Required desire to work with diverse populations and ability to identify internal and structural bias within the education system.
