Description

Laurelhurst Elementary School is in the Laurelhurst neighborhood of northeast Seattle. We have about 280 students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Laurelhurst has a diverse community of students, families, and staff. We have an organized and involved PTA who help fund various school programs and events. We focus not only on the academic growth of students, but also on their emotional and social development. We offer an inclusive, caring, supportive, and nurturing environment for students to learn and grow. At Laurelhurst we learn to love to learn.

The counseling/social work program provides social-emotional, mental health, behavioral, and academic supports to students and families. We use strengths based and collaborative practices in our work. The counseling/social work program provides support in many ways, including but not limited to individual and small group counseling, classroom guidance lessons, teacher and school staff consultations, assistance to families during a transition or crisis, and connection or referral to community resources.
