Description

Perfectly Queer Counseling is an all-queer private practice that serves teens and adults who are queer, questioning, or anything and everything in, out and in-between. We focus on queer-affirming care, incorporating an intersectional feminist lens and social justice orientation.

Micro

Provide individual therapy to teens (13+) and adults via telehealth platform. Practice is fully remote - no physical office location. Responsible for bio-psycho-social-spirtual assessments, client consultation calls, caseload management (10-12 clients max), electronic health record charting, document/consent form management, weekly supervision (individual and group alternating). This placement requires an individual who can work independently and has excellent time management skills.

Mezzo

If desired, student interns have the opportunity to participate in community-based education and/or training as part of the internship with PQC. While this is not a requirement of this internship, it is an optional opportunity and is very flexible.

Additional Perks or Funding

Student can use $1,500 stipend for trainings, books, conferences or anything they feel could further their professional development. NOT available to be used for tuition or any travel.

Required Experience

Minimum Requirements:
2 years of professional experience in general social work (outside of school-required internships)
Comfort with technology and comfortable with new/unfamiliar technology programs
Experience and proficiency with writing case notes/therapy notes
Experience and knowledge of HIPAA and WA State privacy laws and practices
Have a private space with reliable internet to conduct sessions remotely
Excellent time management skills and ability to manage own schedule independently
Self-starter and independent worker
Experience, knowledge and comfort with queer individuals (teens and adults)
Knowledge and comfort with the following topics: sex-positivity, kink, polyamory, gender affirming care, orientation and gender identity exploration
Ability to provide effective and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural beliefs and practices

Require self-starter, independent worker, motivated, good at time management, reliable internet and computer with webcam/mic/speakers, quiet/private space to provide sessions
