Description
This program offers 16 to 21-year-olds without a high school diploma the chance to return to school to earn their high school diploma and/or GED and go on to college, technical training, and/or employment.
CECO is tuition-free and fee-free. It delivers services to support students “to and through” a post-secondary education, with paid internships, relational case management, behavioral health services, and fiscal support services, including all programs available at multiple colleges.

Micro
Provide case management support to youth transitioning into CECO housing program
Provide one on one job readiness training to youth and supporting in internship placements
Assist in drop-in case management and classroom learning activities
Lead or co-lead study labs focused on academic success
Mezzo
Coordinate with community organizations to establish new internship opportunities for CECO youth
Collaborate with Shoreline College and other external partners to expand employment opportunities for CECO students
Participate in planning, carrying out, and participating in CECO events that promote programming for prospective students, families, and community partners
Collaborate with team on marketing and outreach efforts
Macro
Attend King County and CECO staff meetings to discuss policy changes that impact programming
Learn the importance of policies and initiatives that support vulnerable populations and promote equal access to employment and education opportunities
Depending on experience or interest, students can meet with program management to learn more about grant writing and identifying funding sources to help impact program growth
Required Experience
There is not any required experience for a placement. Potential applicants are encouraged to apply who have lived experience as community/technical college students and/or personal experience navigating re-engagement in secondary or post-secondary education programs. Potential applicants are also encouraged to apply who have experience and/or interest working with youth.
