Description

Wayfinder Counseling is a private group practice in the Seattle area. Our therapists provide services of the highest quality to people of all ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, and relationship structures. We work from a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive approach, celebrate neurodivergence and adhere to the principles of Fat Liberation and Health at Every Size.

Micro

At Wayfinder Counseling, 2nd-year practicum students engage in micro-level practice by providing individual therapy to clients under supervision. This includes conducting comprehensive mental health assessments, developing client-centered treatment plans, and utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. Students build strong therapeutic alliances and monitor client progress to support their personal growth and well-being.

Mezzo

In mezzo-level practice, students at Wayfinder Counseling have opportunities to work with families, couples, and small groups. This may include facilitating therapy groups, leading psychoeducational workshops, or providing family counseling sessions. Additionally, students collaborate with schools, community organizations, or support networks to ensure coordinated care and address the relational and systemic needs of clients.

Macro

At the macro level, practicum students at Wayfinder Counseling contribute to systemic initiatives that enhance mental health awareness and access. This may involve developing outreach programs, creating educational materials for the community, or advocating for mental health resources and policies. Students may also analyze trends within the practice to identify service gaps and propose strategies for improving equity and accessibility for clients.

Additional Perks or Funding

- A training budget of $250

Required Experience

Students must be Advanced Standing or 2nd Year practicum students.
