Description

Compass Health is a private, non-profit, state licensed organization providing mental health and chemical dependency services. We provide services in Island, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom counties. A volunteer board of directors guides our path. Compass Health is a leader in the delivery of behavioral health services. We provide quality, creative services to children, families and adults. Our goal is to help people stay in their home and in their community, surrounded by family and friends who can support them during difficult times. At the Arlington/Smokey Point Child and Family clinic, we provide outpatient treatment for children and families. We have a comprehensive range of programs serving children and families of all income levels and coming from diverse backgrounds. Clients served may be chronically mentally ill, experiencing an episodic crisis, dual diagnosed or seeking assistance for an emotional or behavioral problem.

Micro

Interns will provide therapy to children, youth and families. Services may include individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and general support to caregivers and children. We are currently providing a mix of telehealth and in-person services, with most clients preferring in-person sessions. Interns will be familiarized with Evidenced Based Practices and receive support in finding their therapeutic orientation.

Mezzo

Interns receive weekly supervision and have an opportunity for participation in group consultation, intern group and monthly psychiatric consultation with our prescriber. Interns will have the opportunity to coordinate care for their clients with a variety of community partners including DCYF, youth shelters, juvenile justice system, primary care doctors and school districts. Interns are encouraged to participate in change initiatives at the agency, which could include providing feedback about how systemic issues impact client care.

Macro

There would be learning opportunities in direct and group supervision to discuss macro theories related to community mental health agencies and implications related to clinical work.

Additional Perks or Funding

Compass Health will reimburse students for the required Agency Affiliated Counselor credential.

Previous experience working with children and families is beneficial, but is not required.
