Description
Elizabeth Gregory Home (EGH) provides a welcoming and respectful refuge where women who are experiencing homelessness, economic insecurity, or trauma have access to a caring community and critical resources. Our vision is a community where all women have safety, shelter, resources, and the opportunity to thrive.
EGH’s Day Shelter is a welcoming space for women to access services and referrals tailored for women living on the streets or in shelters. Centralizing multiple services at our location means that our clients expend less energy traveling to service providers and more time pursuing long-term goals of housing, health, and income. In 2024, we served 564 women at our Day Shelter and are continually assessing our services to ensure we offer relevant, accessible services.
Our Transitional Housing Program is a home where women can live together in a safe and supportive community; each woman stays for up to two years. The women live together as a household, sharing responsibilities and support for each other. During their stay, we partner with them to build their ability to live independently. Last year, we helped 16 women focus on recovery from their trauma and build community in our transitional housing, and helped dozens more with referrals for permanent or emergency housing.
