Micro

Seattle Indian Health Board (SIHB) is actively recruiting Advanced MSW students to join our Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Team. Our Advanced Standing Program has been in place for six years and is well established. Our Behavioral Health Training Program focuses highly on our organizational “Indigenous Knowledge Informed Systems of Care” (Traditional Medicine/ Medical/ Dental/Behavioral Health/ Human Services/Case Management). In order to treat our relatives, we have adopted a holistic approach (physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual) weaving indigenous psychology through every aspect of our interventions and treatments. Therefore, our Behavioral Health Training Program offers co-occurring clinical trainings.

In addition, material regarding cultural competency is woven throughout our bi-weekly 2-hour didactic trainings. Traditional Native practices, beliefs, and ceremonies are strongly woven throughout our training and holistic health care system. Our training program paired with clinical experience, helps develop and prepare culturally competent practitioners. SIHB has 4 available positions for the 2024-2025 academic year, please note that Indian Preference will apply, but we welcome all applicants. In addition, only students enrolled in the “MSW-Clinical Track” will be considered for the Position.
