Description
Since our beginnings in 1910, Swedish has been the region's standard-bearer for the highest-quality health care at the best value.
Swedish is the largest nonprofit health care provider in the greater Seattle area with five hospital campuses: First Hill, Cherry Hill, Ballard, Edmonds and Issaquah. We also have ambulatory care centers in Redmond and Mill Creek, and a network of more than 100 primary care and specialty clinics throughout the greater Puget Sound area.
Swedish’s innovative care has made it a regional referral center for leading-edge procedures such as robotic-assisted surgery and personalized treatment in cardiovascular care, cancer care, neuroscience, orthopedics, high-risk obstetrics, pediatric specialties, organ transplantation and clinical research.
Swedish is affiliated with Providence St. Joseph Health, a Catholic, not-for-profit organization founded by the Sisters of Providence in 1856. With more than 76,000 employees, Providence operates 34 hospitals and 475 physician clinics across five states. Based in Renton, Washington, Providence also provides strategic and management services to integrated health-care systems in Alaska, California, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.
Swedish First Hill is home to one of seven kidney transplant centers and one of just four liver transplant centers serving the entire Pacific Northwest. Over the past 20 years, our surgeons have performed more than 2,000 kidney transplants in our state-of-the-art surgical facilities. Our multidisciplinary teams are led by highly-skilled transplant surgeons to provide quality care for kidney, liver and pancreas transplants.
The Organ Transplant Center at Swedish is at the forefront of new advances in transplantation surgery, including pancreas transplants and transplants between unrelated living organ donors and recipients.
