This internship offers an incredible learning opportunity to gain hands-on experience in direct therapy while working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive, collaborative environment.

What We’re Looking For
We welcome Master’s-level students from any counseling or related field who are eager to deepen their knowledge and skills in the counseling profession. We value candidates who bring:

  • A passion for learning and professional development.
  • Interest in working with diverse populations and perspectives.
  • A collaborative mindset and a willingness to contribute to a dynamic team environment.

Your unique background and experiences will add depth to our team and enrich the learning environment for everyone involved.

Internship Responsibilities
As a counseling intern, you will:

  • Provide direct counseling services.
  • Participate in weekly individual and group supervision.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate treatment notes.
  • Actively engage in case presentations, receiving constructive feedback to refine your clinical skills.
  • AND write blogs!

Locations and Modality
Pacific Mental Health offers flexible work options to meet your needs:

  • Hybrid Opportunities: Interns can combine in-person and remote work while serving clients in Lynnwood, WA, and Seattle, WA.
  • In-Person Work: Join us at our offices in Lynnwood, WA, and Seattle, WA for on-site client sessions and collaboration.
  • Fully Remote Work: We currently offer fully remote positions for interns working with clients in Washington.

Additionally, we are in the process of expanding our fully remote opportunities to include clients in Arizona and Idaho, though these options for interns are not yet available.

We are committed to fostering an inclusive and dynamic environment that supports your professional development while helping you make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.

Micro

The micro level is the majority of the work done at pacific mental health. Our students will work one on one with clients primarily on doing therapy and being supervised for the therapy work they are doing.

Mezzo

At the Mezzo level we have opportunities for students to engage in group therapy, along with supporting other students in student lead groups, and peer support groups as well.

Macro

At the macro level we have blog and article writing for students to participate in, as well as volunteer opportunities, group therapy, and community connection to engage in.

Required Experience

We like to see that our students have had some level of mental health, or similar related work experience. This can be anything from volunteer work, to generalized practicums etc.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit:
1) a letter describing your counseling interests and qualifications

2) a curriculum vita / resume
