Description

The mission of the Administration for Children, Youth and Families is to promote the economic and social well being of children, youth and families and communities across the United States.  THe ACYF's programs are designed to help children develop into healthy adults and communities become more supportive of their members. Activities students will engage in are designed to support ACYF leadership, their various operating divisions (including the Children's Bureau and the Family and Youth Services Bureau) to carry out this mission and support the work of implementing each of these units' own strategic plans, priorities an goals. The following major activities cross each of the units' strategic goals:

Advising the Secretary and other relevant appointees assigned to the US Department of Health and Human Services

Support the Units with administering programs such as the Adoption Opportunities Program, Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) and the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act.

Support the development of policy guidance to states, Tribes and territories and community based organizations across the United States

Conduct research and demonstration activities including the development of learning opportunities and training for federal employees

Assist with Technical assistance, data, analytics and compliance requests from states, Tribes and territories

Engagement with Presidential appointees, national connections that can support long term career development, position is remote work. Commissioner's Office has staff that work across all U.S. time zones.

Required Experience

experience working in a child welfare setting, tribal serving organization, or runaway and homeless organization preferred. This position is remote.
