Description
The Arc of King County serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the lifespan: from prenatal diagnosis through end of life care.
We provide specialized services and activities in English, Spanish, and specifically for African American families. For other languages, we utilize interpreters.
Our programs include:
- Information and Family Support, for people needing referral and 1:1 support
- Parent to Parent, for connection and peer support
- IEP Parent Partners, for support with special education services
- Silver Tsunami, for aging families and caregivers
- Supported Living for adults living in the community
- Healthy Relationships support for people with IDD ages 18+
- Representative Payee for individuals needing financial management assistance
- Housing Stability Services for families at-risk of losing their housing; and
- Wings for Autism®, an airport rehearsal for autistic youth and their families
- Advocacy for people who want to build inclusive communities and promote and protect the rights of people with IDD
Micro
We listen to individual and family stories without judgement. Our team understands the unique challenges and joys found within the intellectual and developmental disability (I/DD) community and is available to listen to concerns and suggest resources or support.
Mezzo
We empower individuals and families by providing tips and tools to locate, access, and navigate the various I/DD resources and services in King County. We also empower individuals and families by showing them that they are not alone in their journey.
Macro
We connect individual and families with resources as well as with each other to develop a network of support.
