Partners for Our Children (P4C) aims to eliminate inequities and promote inter-generational family well-being by advancing research, evaluation and evidence-informed policy and practice. In collaboration with partners, communities and those with lived expertise, we work to transform the child welfare system and create structural changes that are anti-racist and affirming of all families.

The Alliance evaluation team partners with curriculum development and training delivery teams to develop, revise, and evaluate curricula addressing a wide range of topics related to child welfare practice, mental health, trauma focused care, and caregiving for children in out of home care. This training is delivered by the Alliance for Professional Development, Training and Caregiver Excellence https://risewiththealliance.org/ MSW students may have opportunities to observe trainings, consider adult learning strategies, and explore selected topics of interest.
Macro
P4C s a macro-focused organization involved in initiatives to 1)evaluate a statewide child welfare training partnership, 2) conduct intervention research and 3) engage in policy analysis and participate in systems reform efforts statewide and nationally.
Required Experience
Advanced MSW student will focus on research and evaluation activities. In the coming year, we anticipate projects to include: 1) evaluation of training for child welfare workforce and foster and relative caregivers, and 2) analyzing evidence related to P4C state and federal policy priorities for 2026.
Examples of learning activities: 1) participate in research instrument and methods design, 2) observe and collect data at child welfare training sessions, 3) participate in interagency research planning meetings, 4) conduct phone interviews, focus groups or online surveys, 5) analyze quantitative and qualitative data, 6) develop data visualizations and reports, 7) review literature and write policy briefs summarizing evidence on child welfare topics.
