Description
Mindful Therapy Group is the premier private practice mental health group in the Pacific Northwest, and as such we offer unique practicum opportunities for students their final year of their master’s program.
Our group is unique in that our structure supports independent private practitioners in building and sustaining their clinical practices. As a result, MTG internships are designed to give students a well-rounded and in-depth education on clinical work in a private practice setting.
Micro
In our practicum program, students will gain experience by shadowing clinical therapy sessions, as well as managing their own caseload of weekly clients.
They will attend regular supervision with an experienced therapist, including direction on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning, as well as clinical documentation, record management, and HIPAA compliance.
Students will spend time in our Intake department, assessing the needs of first-time clients calling for services and determining placement with an appropriate clinician.
They will also learn strategies for effective schedule management and for supporting current therapists in building and managing their practices.
Training will include an education on health insurance and billing processes in a real-world environment as well as insight into the process of building the business and legal sides of a private practice.
Students will spend time learning about and supporting back-end administrative teams, meeting with other clinicians who are building their private practices, as well as shadowing client sessions and seeing their own caseload of clients.
