This placement is focused in the emergency department. The emergency department provides assessment and care to any individual regardless of insurance or socioeconomic status. Micro
-Often in session patients will ask for direct advice on how to navigate a social problem or how to handle emotions. We have the opportunity to assess the micro needs of patients and to at times provide specific tools they can use to manage emotions -We work with individual patients and help them navigate psychiatric distress and turmoil.
-We work with patients who have substance use disorder and can assess readiness for change when referring them to appropriate resources or providing guidelines for safe use and/or recovery
-Every person we see we have a micro level 1:1 connection and engagement
Mezzo
We are regularly improving upon and modifying the assessment templates we use with patients. We have the chance to analyze procedures and assessment requirements and suggest modifications, or provide feedback when our manager makes any changes.
