Description
Literacy Source provides free adult education classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages, GED prep, Ready to Work, Conversation Classes, and Citizenship preparation and classes. Literacy Source makes it possible for adults to gain the basic literacy skills they need in order to succeed in school, to find a job, to achieve life goals, and to create a better, more hopeful future. At the heart of our work is teaching adult learners to read, write, and do basic math. That's because proficiency in these areas is a game-changer for people who are otherwise unable to attain employment, thrive in school, gain citizenship, and pursue other life opportunities. Our students come from over 50 countries, speak over 40 languages, and most are non-native English speakers. Our top five languages of students are Amharic, Tigrinya, Spanish, Chinese, and Oromo.
