Description

Consejo Counseling and Referral Service is a private not for profit organization that offers outpatient behavioral health services, trauma-informed care, and supportive transitional housing. Since 1978, Consejo has worked throughout King, Pierce, Mason, and Skagit Counties with children, youth, adults, and older adults. Services at Consejo include outpatient mental health treatment, outpatient substance use disorder treatment, domestic violence services, sexual assault services, violence prevention services, transitional housing, psychiatric care, complementary medicine and primary care, and school based counseling.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in the following types of services: Psychotherapy (individual, family, and group), case management, intakes and assessments, care coordination, crisis interventions, and integrated services. They will learn to engage with clients in the process of mental health treatment and will also be required to learn some of the essential elements of documenting services, initiating and maintaining an active chart and a treatment plan. In addition, they will be expected to provide in-person and tele-health services, based on client care, training needs and federal requirements. We are a community-based agency, it will be expected to also provide services at schools.
