Description
Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization providing a full range of inpatient, outpatient, and residential behavioral health services for children, adults and families.
We serve more than 5,600 clients each year and employ more than 600 caring professionals, who provide hope and healing when it’s needed most.
KMHS became a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) in 2023. As a CCBHC, we are working to expand access to high-quality care, be responsive to the community’s needs, coordinate behavioral and physical health care, and meaningfully involve clients and their families in clients’ care and the overall direction of KMHS.
Kitsap Mental Health Services’ outpatient programs are designed to help adults 18 years of age and older who may be struggling with a wide variety of mental health or substance use concerns.
Micro
Students receive focused training and support around micro-level skills including active listening, risk assessment, safety planning, goal setting, and documentation. Students will meet with clients individually to provide counseling and case coordination support, documenting through progress notes and treatment plans. Students will attend supervision with an on-site supervisor to receive feedback on documentation and support on clinical skills.
Mezzo
Students will provide case coordination support connecting clients to housing programs, community support programs, healthcare, and employment support. Students will collaborate with other departments within the agency including medication management services, substance use disorder treatment, supportive employment, and crisis services to provide exceptional client care. Students will have an opportunity to shadow/co-facilitate a mental health focused group.

Students will have opportunities to engage in discussions around healthcare systems and the effect of social inequities on clients’ wellbeing.
