Description

Touchpoint Counseling is a group practice that specializes in trauma work. We approach treatment from a trauma recovery model; combining theories of child development, attachment and neuroscience to understand and treat mental heatlh problems. We focus on holistic, overall healing, so people can grow and thrive within themselves and their relationships. Our therapists utilize individual, group, couples and family therapy services in addition to neurofeedback services with clients. We want the people we work with to meet their FULL potential.

Our internship program here at Touchpoint Counseling is designed to give you experience in treating individuals, teens, and couples from a trauma lens and work through the impact of trauma in their lives. Our program is designed to prepare you for licensure and give you information and training critical in your work with individuals who have experienced trauma. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive internship opportunity that reaches behind the confines of the CBT box, one that is based in leading trauma modalities within the field and incorporated information from neuroscience. We are dedicated to your professional growth and would love the opportunity to help you move forward in your professional journey.

Developing treatment plans tailored to clients' unique needs and cultural backgrounds.

Facilitating trauma based support groups.
Connect clients with needed resources.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams within Touchpoint (e.g., therapists, neurofeedback providers, couples/family therapists, group leaders) to ensure holistic care for clients.

Macro

At the macro level, the internship can expose the student to larger systemic issues related to trauma and mental health care. This may include:
