NAMI Washington is offering an exciting field placement opportunity for a Spanish-speaking individual to support our efforts in community mobilization and engagement. This role will assist our Community Mobilizers and Engagement Managers in presenting Spanish-language materials aimed at educating the Latine community about mental health awareness and reducing stigma.

Areas of Focus:
Learn Standards of Practice (SOP) for Washington State Nonprofit Organizations
Lead community mobilizing efforts with Partner Organizations and Community Based Coalitions to build a constituent base of informed and engaged BIPOC community leaders with a focus on community mental health;
Network and provide presentations with community groups to increase NAMI Washington’s visibility to increase volunteer interest.
Develop community partners as collaborators and potential hosts of outreach events.
Conduct educational activities and workshops for community to inform them of issues impacting the BIPOC mental health;
Participate in trainings and staff development including the Compartiendo Esperanza and Mi Mente Mi Fuerza outreach program; learning to lead trainings; and developing leaders to lead trainings through train-the-trainer models.
Work with community members and leaders to identify issues and solutions, and take action with leaders to get results;

Extremely organized—even if you’re not naturally detail-oriented—with a system for keeping track of projects.
Passionate about the way mental health intersects with other lived experiences and identities, and you bring an anti-bias and intersectional lens to the work that you do.
