Description
We are a community-based hospital located in the city of Edmonds WA. Our psychiatric unit has 25 adult acute beds, and we serve both voluntary and involuntary patients.
Micro
Practicum students will learn to complete psychosocial assessments, safety plans, and discharge plans with patients on the unit. They will engage with family members by proving clinical information and psychoeducation. They will also learn about and connect patients to various resources in the community.
Mezzo
Practicum students will learn to facilitate group therapy on the inpatient psychiatric unit, participate in daily treatment team meetings, coordinate with outside service practitioners, and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Macro
Practicum students will learn about the involuntary court system, utilization management of obtaining insurance authorizations, community resources that patients can engage in and how mental health policies affect the patients access to care.
