Description
The Everett Public Schools school social work team supports students of all ages, grades P-12 across the school district. Our school district serves over 20,000 students at 27 schools. EPS offers a variety of academic programs, extracurricular activities, and support services designed to meet the unique needs of its student population. Micro
• Referral management including assessment and case management
• Crisis intervention support
• Opportunity to facilitate small groups
• Collaborate within interdisciplinary school teams
• Referrals to community resources
• Advocacy for student needs
• Conduct home visits in collaboration with staff
• Participate in team meetings and consultations
Mezzo
• Support ongoing suicide prevention strategies with district level staff
• Foster healthy communication and collaboration between parents and school staff
• Support students and families across general education and special education settings
• Participate in teacher and staff trainings on mental health and social-emotional issues
• Attend truancy hearings and support improving school attendance initiatives
Macro
• Promote mental health awareness and support at the district level
• Understand IDEA, FERPA, and FAPE policies and procedures
• Understand and implement McKinney Vento policies and procedures
Required Experience
Experience working with children, youth, and families.
Desired qualities include self-motivation, critical thinking skills, effective communication, and comfort working within a flexible and adaptable work environment.
